At one point in the short history of Ottawa’s craft beer scene, Marc Plante, one of the owners of Stray Dog Brewing, wanted to open a brewery tour company just like Brew Donkey. The two met, chatted and decided that ‘there can be only one’. Marc was our ‘most senior’ tour guide for 3.5 years and learned everything he could to set up Stray Dog. This Orleans brewery is as far east in the city as you can get, so a tour is probably smarter than public transportation. An IPA at this brewery is full of tropical and pine flavours, but their flagship ‘This One’ is a well crafted malty California Common. If visiting on your own, feel free to bring your dog to this dog-friendly brewery. Please leave the pup home though for the Y-East End tour that Stray Dog is regularly featured on.
